Stroke Symptoms

stroke

Weakness on one side of the body, droopiness of the facial muscles, slurred speech, these are classic symptoms of what life-threatening condition? If you said a stroke, you’re right—but if you have those symptoms what should you do? Hopefully, more than most of us.

Researchers found that two thirds of people with stroke symptoms fail to call 911. This is critical because the window to treat a stroke is only three hours from the first symptom. The longer the wait, the lower the chance for recovery.

To see if you or someone you love maybe having a stroke, ask them to do three things: mile, raise both arms, and speak a simple sentence. If they cannot, call 911.

Don’t strike out on treating a stroke.
